This tree was previously reproduced in 2014 as supplied but we had doubts that all members of generation 2 were the children of Edward and Amelia Clift. In 2015 we established that Edward was married first to Jane O’Brien and that she was the mother of Emily, Edward, Louisa, William and Walter. Although all members of generation 3 are shown as born in St Helier, only the baptism of William George has been found.
The tree was reviewed in 2018 and some details added; a further review by Mike Bisson in 2020 resulted in the addition of more information

In common with the majority of our trees, this descendancy has been subject to regular review by site editors and checked against Jersey church records. Trees including French ancestry have also been checked as far as possible against French primary records. It is not always possible to carry out such checks on sections of trees with United Kingdom and/or colonial content
